The Sustainable Food Cities Network helps bring together people and places who are committed to making a healthy and sustainable food system a defining characteristic of where they live. Sustainable Food Cities support people and practitioners to share challenges, explore practical solutions and develop best practice on key food issues.
The network run an award scheme to recognise and celebrate places who are taking a joined up and holistic approach to food. We are pleased to update that Manchester has recently achieved the Sustainable Food Cities 'Bronze award' for this scheme. Food Futures have been incremental in pulling together the application for the award, but the recognition is very much for all of the people and projects who work to make our food in Manchester healthier and more sustainable.
